This studio is dedicated to the comprehensive and integrated exploration of architecture, guiding students through a rigorous process of research, analysis, and design. Throughout the semester, one will delve into seven crucial content areas, ranging from user requirements to envelope systems, each contributing essential insights to the architectural discourse. With a focus on the creation of a health and recreational center situated in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, students will navigate the complexities of site-specific design, harnessing the unique attributes of the location to inform their architectural narratives. Through meticulous examination and thoughtful synthesis, participants will strive to articulate a design response that not only meets the functional needs of the users but also resonates harmoniously with the natural and cultural context of the site.
